In this sense, official data on murder from before and after the intervention have
been compared (2007 and 2008) among the aff ected communities. Additionally, comparisons
have also been performed between the aff ected communities and an established control group,
composed by similar communities, both in terms of criminal activity, as in terms of vulnerability to
violent behavior. Results have shown that, even though the city as a whole has also been reported
reduction of violence during the period under appraisal, the performance of those served juris-
dictions has been much more expressive. Such findings suggest that the interdisciplinary model
of crime prevention merits additional attention from policymakers and the research literature.
2024-03-19T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Estudos em Ciências Policiais de Segurança e Ordem Públicahttp://www.cienciaspoliciais.edu.br/index.php/ecpsop/article/view/19-42A INFLUÊNCIA NAS METAS DE COMPAIXÃO E AUTOIMAGEM NO BEM-ESTAR2023-06-14T20:33:33-03:00Paulo Henrique Ferreira-Alvesphferreiraalves@gmail.comRenato Cezário Guimarãesrenato2508@gmail.comJorge Henrique da Silva Pintohenriquejsp01@gmail.comCláudio Vaz Torresclaudio.v.torres@gmail.com
The present research has the purpose of measuring the impact of compassion and self-image goals on the well-being of students in training, improvement and higher studies courses, in the PMDF and its relationship with some sociodemographic factors. To carry out the work, an eminently quantitative research method was used, with a brief qualitative portion that aimed to succinctly present the PMDF teaching system and its main courses. Two hundred and fifty military police officers from the Federal District who were attending initial or sequential courses in the career of officer or enlisted in the Corporation (CAE, CAO, CFO, CAEP, CAP and CFP) participated in the research. The results showed good levels of students' well-being and that compassion goals stood out in police officers, but without neglecting their self-image, as well as the correlations showed that compassion goals were positively correlated with life satisfaction and well-being. -being global. Future perspectives can expand the scope with more students, as well as teachers and managers of education and culture at the Corporation.
2024-03-19T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Estudos em Ciências Policiais de Segurança e Ordem Públicahttp://www.cienciaspoliciais.edu.br/index.php/ecpsop/article/view/43-64The PRISONER’S DILEMMA REVISITED2022-07-22T14:36:31-03:00Jacintho Del Vecchiojdelvecchio@policiamilitar.sp.gov.br
This paper intends to highlight the pertinence and advantages arising from the application of the principles, concepts, structures and strategies studied by game theory in the legal procedu-
re of award-winning collaboration, instituted in Brazil by Law nº. 12.850/2013. The paper begins with a historical-analytical approach of the aforementioned Law, as well as the presentation of an abstract model for representing the negotiation of the award-winning collaboration betwe-
en the potential collaborators and negotiators, privileging their most relevant traits and indi-
cating important variations of this primary model, within what allows Brazilian legal system. The results achieved by the construction of these models lead to conclude that game theory is a theoretical tool able to introduce significant improvements in the analysis of the problem. It also allows better conditions for negotiators (i.e., police officers or public prosecutors) in order to make possible agreements that satisfy the expectations of law and society, that is, efficiency on disrupting gangs and on identification and punishment of criminals.
2024-03-19T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Estudos em Ciências Policiais de Segurança e Ordem Públicahttp://www.cienciaspoliciais.edu.br/index.php/ecpsop/article/view/65-85THE RURAL GUARDIAN PROGRAM AND THE SECURITY CHALLENGES IN RURAL COMMUNITIES OF THE FEDERAL DISTRICT2022-07-26T13:45:07-03:00Rafael Branquinho da Cunharafael.branquinho@gmail.comIsângelo Senna da Costaisangelosenna@gmail.com
Rural communities face similar problems in comparison with their counterparts in urban centers. It includes substance abuse, violent crime, and environmental and social disorder. Even so, the public safety policies and literature, particularly in Brazil, have almost exclusively focused on the urban
settings and their problems. To fulfil such a gap in the crime prevention practice and research, the
purpose of this paper is to analyse the implementation process of the Rural Guardian program. It is a community-based crime prevention initiative in which local countryside residents work alongside the Federal District Military Police aiming to tackle crime, fear of crime and disorder in the
rural areas surrounding the Brazilian federal capital. In order to achieve its goals, this work applies
descriptive qualitative research methods such as literature review, case studies, direct observations
and document analyses. The program framework, impacts, limitations and its potential future paths
in face of the public security in the rural area of the Federal District are also discussed.
2024-03-19T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Estudos em Ciências Policiais de Segurança e Ordem Pública
